Our Cub Scout Pack
Pack 23 is a very active pack, and we do a lot of fun activities throughout the year!
We meet as a full pack at least once a month for a variety of events such as:
- Family Campouts: We organize fall and spring campouts, which families can attend for the day or for weekend overnights. We also have annual winter camp-in at museums around the area.
- Pinewood Derby: Scouts build, decorate, and race wooden cards during this classic event.
- Scouting for Food: Scouts collect food donations from the community for a local food pantry.
- Blue and Gold Banquet: We celebrate scouting and our pack’s accomplishments with a celebration
- Teambuliding Games: We play a variety of games to build scout spirit and have fun together.
- Service Projects: We participate in local creek cleanups and other initiatives to help the community.
- Hiking: We take day hikes as either dens or a pack within the DC metro area.
- Community Trips and Speakers: We take trips to visit firestations, animal shelters, museums, and historical sites. We also have speakers from the community, such as beekeepers, police officers, elected officials, and recycling managers.
Meetings are held at the St. Michael the Archangel School in downtown Silver Spring. Ideas for other activities either for Dens or the Pack are always welcome as we plan our annual calendar together.
